Louisiana Main StreetThis state office offers annual redevelopment incentive grant opportunities. To be eligible for redevelopment incentive grant funds, a building must be located within the downtown historic district, must be used for commercial purposes and must be at least 50 years old. In addition, all applications proposing exterior work must be approved by the Natchitoches Historic District Commission and meet the guidelines set by the Secretary of Interior’s Standards for Rehabilitation. The redevelopment incentive grants are reimbursable and can be used for exterior or interior rehabilitation projects. Natchitoches Historic District Development CommissionThis local commission annually offers various grants to downtown merchants and property owners for the continued development of the Historic District. Grants include façade, marketing, landscaping and retail development. The commission is comprised of volunteers and meets the third Thursday of each month at the Natchitoches Arts Center at 10 a.m.

Grants are funded in three categories: preservation and restoration, research and development.
