Turn on the Holidays
Historic Natchitoches kicks off the holiday season during “Turn on the Holidays,” typically held the Saturday before Thanksgiving. The event features an entire day of free family entertainment, thousands of Christmas lights and a spectacular fireworks show. The evening is capped off with an official lighting ceremony on the downtown riverbank stage immediately followed by a fireworks show over Cane River Lake. These events are all free to the public. These events are made possible through grants from the Natchitoches Historic District Development Commission and the Office of the Lt. Governor, Department of Culture, Recreation, and Tourism and the National Park Service Preserve America.
